ESPECIES[1]

Interactive monologue, designed to be a [des] encounter.
An actor, two chairs, perhaps, will be at ease director.

SCENE 1 — EXCEED.

Actor: I have around 15 minutes to do this play, and I know it will exceed the time. There are things we don’t talk about on a first date. I wouldnever say on a first date that I’m from Aries, that I snore, or that I’ve slept without a bath because I haven’t left the house that day.

I don’t know. I wouldn’t say that I have five cats or there are times I flush with the container of water because sometimes my toilet doesn’t work., or Itend to have a bad smell on my foot. I also wouldn’t say, “Leave it, I pay the bill,” or

“I

love

you.”

But look, once, on the first very date, I took a guy to watch an immersive-interactive play, it was a di-sas-ter; guess who they chosen?

My best friend hates interactive play, when I told her this would be some kind of interactive play she said:

“Look, I love you, mate, but I’m not going to go watch your play. Never. You will need to kill me. “

Species, 2019

I have been doing this play for almost three years. Neither she nor my first date have been to this…
